Create a remix by compiling a variety of entirely found footage. Change the original intention of the pieces by constructing them in a way that fits the desired overall message & narrative of the piece.
My remix was constructed around a speech by astronomer Carl Sagan. I wanted to capture the beauty & complexity of the human experience on the tiny, pale blue dot we call home by pulling a variety of footage from people’s archived home videos to footage captured during WWII & more. Sagan’s message is supposed to be inspiring & humbling & I wanted to honor his original intention while simultaneously conveying the chaos of the human experience.
